Dance

First Dance

We dance as man and wife at last
With hearts full of love and joy
Waltzing and gliding around the floor
A dance that we both enjoy.

Held in your arms I relax
And feel complete for the very first time
Knowing that I'm held in your arms
And that you are truly mine!

Oh, God grant that we dance so sweetly
Through all of our married life
Comforted always by each loving embrace
As we dance as husband and wife.

But for now I am content to be near you
And dance this first dance with you
Preparing on this special day
To dance through my life with you.

Dancing With Mom

Here I am after all this time
Doing something that I have never done before.
I'm happily dancing with my mom
And we glide across the ballroom floor.

As I feel the gentleness of your arms
And your hand squeezing mine ever so gently
I know that to keep your eyes from releasing tears
You are concentrating ever so intently.

My mind goes back through the years
To the times you shared my joys
And when so sweetly and lovingly
You kissed my wounds and wiped away my tears.

It seems not to be the popular or manly thing to do
To be to openly affectionate to a teenager's mother
And siblings when with their peers
Seem to downplay their love for one another.

But I know that even in those times when I feel embarrassed
To tell you that you are a woman who I truly adore
You knew that I loved you every bit as much then
As I do today as we waltz across the floor.

I love the gentleness and strength of your arms
I love the tenderness and compassion of your spirit
And I love the joy of finally dancing on this special day with you
And saying "I love you, Mother" where everyone around will hear it!

Dance With Me, Daddy

Dance with me, Daddy
And lets go round and round
Standing on your shoes
Is the best for me I've found.

Oh, what fun to dance with you
And hear the music play
I wish we could dance together
Every single day!

Dance with me, Daddy
And let's pretend I'm grown
And dressed in a formal dress
With a boyfriend of my own...

Let's do a waltz so slowly
And talk like you and mommy do
You could lift me to your ear
So I could whisper to you.

Dance with me, Daddy
I'm really small I know..
But dance with me anyway
I promise I will grow!

Dance With Me Daughter

Dance with me Little one
Let me hold your baby hands in mine
And lift you as around we whirl
Oh, how I love dancing with my baby girl!

Dance with me little sweetheart
Put you tiny feet on my big shoes
And as we dance together
There will be no room for the blues.

Dance with me my daughter
And let's try the newest dance together
I know you love to be outside
In this lovely weather.

But come dance with your daddy
I love to chat with you as we dance
I love hearing about your dreams
And about your first romance.

Dance with me my lovely daughter
Oh my how you have grown
Here you are all dressed in white
Taking a bridegroom of your own.

Dance with me loveliest of brides
On this your wedding day
As as we dance together
Memories of our other dances together
I will replay.

Dancing with my Grandfather

This moment is a treasure
This moment, for me, stopped time
Sharing this special day
With this handsome grandfather of mine.

Holding me in his loving arms
In such a sweet and gentle way
I knew that my lifetime of memories
Would always include this day.

Thank you Grandfather for loving me
And helping to teach me right from wrong
And for being there to celebrate with me
Holding me in your arms so loving and strong.

This day was the dream I dreamed of
As I dreamt of what my life held in store
And sharing this moment with you
Made it special, all the more.

Dance of son and mother of the groom

Dance with me, Mom
And let me tell you
As we dance
How much I love you.

Dance with me, Son
And as we dance
Let me share
My heart with you

On this special day
Let us dance a dance together
For we will have started
Our different roles in life
Before this dance is through.

You are no longer just my son
But you are the husband
Of my new daughter
And I'm no longer just your mom
But now I'm a mother-in-law
(or mother-in-love).

The memories come flooding in my heart
And my eyes betray me
Spilling out big tears
Of joy and love.

Thena
